FAQ

Are you planning on writing a PC version of the game?

Not at this time. You might try Scorched Earth on the PC. When Dome Wars is running under OpenGL a port might be possible, but I don't own a machine capable of running windows...

Random tidbit: One of my roommates in college who watched me write Dome Wars is now working with the author of Scorched Earth.

You have a nice list of new features. When will they be implemented?
Patience, my friend, is a virtue. I can't make any promises, but news will be posted on the site as it becomes available.
What did you use to write Dome Wars?
Original development started with Symantec's Think C, but quickly migrated to CodeWarrior after its release. The carbon port was done using Project Builder. Most of the code is a mix of C/C++, but some aspects are pretty ugly & need to be reworked.

Most of the new graphics in version 1.7 were done in Photoshop Elements. Graphics for weapons, etc, were done in Bryce. We wrote our own program for generating the explosions. If you couldn't figure it out, the music was written in GarageBand. We don't have a midi keyboard yet, so we're a bit limited for now.
