Here's how it works

The iPlanner Interface
iPlanner has an intuitive interface, modeled somewhat after the iCal printing interface. It includes a preview pane of your planner page, and all the settings required for printing, all on one window.

Choosing a Planner Format
iPlanner supports many different planner formats from Franklin Covey, DayRunner, and DayTimer. When first launching iPlanner, a planner style may be chosen by opening a template file. Select "Open" from the "File" menu, or click the "Planner Style" button. Navigate to the templates folder, which is located in the iPlanner application folder. Templates are organized by format, then brand, then size, then style. iPlanner will remember this setting the next time it is launched.

Choosing Calendars

A list of all available calendars from iCal is displayed in the "Print Calendars:" section. Click the checkbox next to each calendar(s) you want to print. iPlanner will remember this setting the next time it is launched.

Selecting a Date

By default, iPlanner prints events from the current date. However, you can set the Start and End date to any date you wish. You can also set the Start date and enter a number of days in the "Or after" field, and iPlanner will calculate the End date. This setting only applies to your scheduled events and to do items that have due dates assigned to them. (Just make sure you use the correct date pages from your paper planner).

Sorting To Do Items

To Do items can be sorted either by Priority, Due Date, or Summary. A Label is also be added for priority.

A = Very important
B = Important
C = Not important
_ = None

Printing To Do Items with a Due Date.

By default, all To Do items in a calendar will print on then planner task list. However, To Do items with a Due Date can be set to print only within so many days before they are due.

Printing Options

iPlanner can print calendars in either color or black. The print color is the color of the calendar, as defined in iCal. You can also choose to print the notes page (for 2 page per day planners), and which notes you want to print.

Printing Pages

Once the settings are correct, click the Print button, or select "Print" from the "File" menu. There is no need to do any "page setup". Unless you are printing onto blank paper, it is very important to load the paper correctly, to ensure that the date being printed falls correctly on the pre-printed planner paper. Some printers need the paper loaded face down, others need it face up. Usually, the top of the paper goes into the printer first. Some smaller planner page sizes may not feed properly through all printers. Please refer to your printer's documentation for more information.
