Tips for improving conversion accuracy

MyScript for Livescribe has excellent accuracy rates on:

cursive
and printed handwriting

But there are some things that you can do that will improve conversion accuracy even further.

Do not cross out or insert new letters

MyScript for Livescribe will try to interpret crossing out as text and will have trouble understanding characters squashed into words at the last minute. It will also produce incorrect results on words that you have written over in order to emphasize them.
The solution: change errors at conversion time, in the editor, rather than trying to change your notes. Add bold type after conversion to emphasize.

Space words correctly

Characters that are too cramped together cause conversion difficulties.
The solution: leave sufficient space between words, and between characters and punctuation marks like brackets or separators.

Add words to your dictionary

If you notice words that are frequently recognized incorrectly, add them to your dictionary for better results in future.

Take care with the size of your writing

You will run into problems if:
- letters are too inconsistent in height within the one word (letters that are too big might be interpreted as drawings!)
- words vary noticeably in height on the same page.
The solution: try to keep letters a reasonable size (for example, a capital letter should measure between 0.5 and 1 cm on digital paper) and to write with a consistent height.
