YES. You can program whatever key you
like to trigger whatever command you like, even your own scripts. You can even program a key to trigger two
different commands, depending on if you give it a short or long press.
To
change the keypad setup, go to the preferences. Select ÓHotkeysÓ. Select ÓClick
actionsÓ to bring up a list of the keys on your keypad and their corresponding
short-press actions. Select ÓHold actionsÓ to bring up a list of the keys on
your keypad and their corresponding long-press actions. Select the key you want
to program. This will bring up a list of all enabled commands. Select the
command you want to assign to the selected key.
If
you want to revert to the default keypad setting, select ÓRestore defaultÓ.
If
you want to revert to the default setting for a single key, select
ÓRevert/ClearÓ in the list of actions.
The
More menu is automatically populated with every command that is not assigned to
a key on your terminal. If you prefer to populate the More menu with all
enabled commands, you may do so by disabling the "Hotkey filterÓ option in
the preferenceÕs ÓMore menuÓ option.
You
can program all keys except the play/pause, help and options key.
YES. You can have as many different
keypad settings as you like: one for your phone and one for your PDA, etc. The
appropriate setting will be loaded automatically.
A
click action is a command triggered by a short key press. A hold action is a
command triggered by a long key press. You can program a single key with both a
click and a hold action. This will reduce the length of the More menu, since
all commands assigned to the keypad - either as a click or a hold action - are
filtered out in the More menu (unless keypad filtering is disabled in the
preferences).
By
default, there are only a few hold actions assigned to the keypad: giving the
play/pause key a long press will toggle full screen or activate the playlist if
no movie is being played (navigator mode). Holding the help key will toggle
mouse mode. Holding the options key will open the preferences menu.
Some
commands are repeatable (such as Adjust sub delay, Volume up/down, etc). If you
assign a repeatable command to a key as a click action, it will automatically
be assigned to the keyÕs hold action as well.
YES. Go to the preferences, select
"More menu" and ÓDisplay orderÓ. This will bring up a list of every
command listed in the More menu. Select the command you want to move and enter
a new value for it. To revert to the factory settings, select ÓRestore defaultÓ
YES. To add a script, go to the
preferences, select "Menu Extras" and ÓAdd actionÓ. This will bring
up a list of every available action script category of Salling Clicker. Select
the category containing the action script you wish to add to the command list,
select the action script, and voila! A new menu called ÓExtrasÓ will now appear
in the More menu. The ÓExtrasÓ menu will bring up a list of all available menu
extras. To remove a previously added script, select ÓRemove actionÓ.
Tip! Menu Extras is also a
convenient way to enable Salling Clicker actions that are currently not
available on your terminal, eg. scripts that arenÕt neccessarilly useful within
the controller but that you, in the comfort of your sofa, just realized that
you have removed from the Clicker menu for some reason but now feel urged to
use again. Instead of having to get up, open ClickerÕs preference pane, locate
the script, drag it to the menu list and apply your changes, you can simply add
it as a Menu Extra to be able to execute it.
YES. To disable a command, simply go
to the preferences menu, select ÓCommandsÓ, ÓEnabledÓ and then the command you
want to disable. To re-enable a command, select ÓDisabledÓ and then the command
you want to enable. Once a command has been disabled, it will disappear from
the More menu.
YES. There are two different
background images: ÓIconÓ and ÓFilmstripÓ. You can choose which one to use in
the preferences menu, where you can also choose to disable background images
completely or select your own, custom background image using the built-in
filebrowser. The background image is displayed when the player is stopped
(navigator mode) or if the current movie has no jacket.
YES. Images fetched from the
internet using the ÓFetch jacketÓ command are stored in /User/Movies/DVD
Jackets/. Simply drop the .jpg image that you want to use as a background image
for a certain movie in this folder. Just remember to give it the same name as
the movie.
YES. Go to the preferences,
select ÓVersion CheckÓ, and then ÓAutomaticallyÓ to automatically check for
updates on launch. Select ÓManually (Now)Ó to check just this once if your
software is up to date.
YES. You can get a brief description
of every command that is currently assigned to a key (click actions as well as
hold actions) on your terminal by pressing the Help or # key.
XTool is a free scripting
addition. Scripting additions extend the possibilities of Applescript. Among
other things, XTool allows scripts to move the mouse cursor to a certain
position on the screen – a functionality that Salling Clicker currently
lacks. VLC Controller uses XTool for this purpose only: to activate the VLC
playlist by moving the mouse cursor to and selecting the first playlist item.
To activate the playlist using XTool, give the play/pause key a long press in
navigator mode (or select ÓActivateÓ in the ÓPlaylistÓ menu).
If
you donÕt install XTool you have to switch to the built-in mouse mode, move the
mouse manually to the playlist window and click on it to activate.
NO. All updates are - and
will always be - free of charge for registered users.
